About Joseph
My name is Joseph and I graduated with honors, earning an AS in mathematics. I am currently enrolled at Baruch College in Manhattan, where I am earning my BS in Actuarial Science. During my time at Baruch I have been studying for the Actuarial P and FM exam.
I have over 3 years of tutoring high school and college students and I specialize in calculus 2 and 3. I am also proficient in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and precalculus. In addition, I have spent the last 18 months studying probability and financial mathematics.
I earned my A.S. in Mathematics from hostos Community College in the Bronx, where I graduated with honors. I then enrolled at Baruch College in Manhattan, where I am majoring in Actuarial Science. For the past 18 months, I have been studying probability and financial mathematics, in preparation for the Actuarial P and FM exam.
I have over 3 years experience tutoring mathematics to high school and college students. I specialize in calculus two and three but I am proficient in most disciplines of mathematics. I also instruct my students in proper note-taking and test taking strategies.

When I first work with a new student, I begin by assessing the students understanding of the subject. In often cases, when students fall behind in their math class, it is because the student did not understand the previous lesson.
By going back and working through previous lessons, my students were not only able to catch up in their math class but understand future lessons more fluently.
