About Oweis
I love the mutual satisfaction between tutor and student when the "ah-ha!" moment happens. It's very rewarding knowing that I can make a difference in a student's life and improve their math abilities. My instruction not only teaches overall concepts, but provides students with the Problem Solving skills necessary to navigate themselves through tougher problems.
I have been tutoring my friends and family's children independently for 3 years. I have taught students between the ages of 7-20 years old. From basic math, all the way up to Calculus. I am currently finishing my undergraduate program in Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, so I deal with advanced math consistently. I have completed and passed Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. Math is my strongsuit and my passion.
I obtained my Associates of Science Degree in 2018 in Aircraft Maintenance at San Francisco City College. I also obtained my airframe and powerplant certifications from San Francisco City College the same year.
I started by teaching friends and family
I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. I have completed and passed advanced math courses including Calculus 1-3, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics.
I have taught children of friends and family for 3 years.

Ask them what concepts they are comfortable with, and which concepts they are struggling in. I use this to gauge how far behind the student is in relation to the subject matter being taught in school. I then go back to the latest taught concept that the student is comfortable with and start by bolstering their proficiency in the particular subject. Once we move on to areas of struggle, I break down concepts for students in bite size chunks, so the student doenst feel overwhelmed. Through practice problems and teaching multiple methods of approaching the same problem, I find the methodology that works best for the particular student. This helps me to guess which method would be more understandable to the student for future taught concepts.
I have worked with students of all ages, from elementary school up to college undergrads.
