About Varun
I'm able to understand concepts really well myself, and thus can explain and illustrate the concepts behind them well, helping to build a solid understanding in students. I'm also a good communicator, helping sessions feel comfortable and natural.
There's something great about being able to see someone finally breakthrough and overcome a difficulty or challenging topic they had previously struggled with, and so that is a process I want to be a part of. There's also something rewarding in being able to connect with others and share my knowledge with them.
I started off just helping my friends in school with their homework or understanding a topic, which eventually evolved into me volunteering as a tutor.
I have over 200 hours of tutoring experience, and so I hae a background in working to teach others. I also have taken courses up to Calculus 3 in math and high levels of science, so I have good experience with many of these topics.

I usually just try and get to know them, working through a few problems or just talked so as to get an idea of their learning style and what works best for them.
I've worked mainly with students from 5th grade to 11th grade, and have worked with all kinds of different people. I've also worked with a volunteer organization that targets disadvantaged inner-city youth, so I have experience working with people who may not have had as strong a foundation in education.
Look for someone who is able to teach the material well yet is also someone you think you'd be comfortable with.

Varun was really patient and helped me work through problems I had difficulty with until I was able to understand them well.
