About Trygve
Hello!
My name is Tryg ("Trig") and I have been passionate about math and science since I recieved my periodic table of elements poster when I was 10. I went high-school at Hill-Murray and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Sceince degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Marquette University in 2016. I then went on to a PhD program in Biochemistry at Arizona State University but was forced to return home due to health complications and have been fortunate to have a successful recovery.
I have been tutoring since I was a junior in high-school and continued every year through graduate school to tutor in mostly biology and chemistry but also am very comfortable with most math courses having taken calc 1-3. In addition to tutoring, I also taught piano lessons to students ranging from 2nd to 9th grade while I was in high-school.
I have tutored for both tutoring programs and privately, so I am happy to try and accomodate whatever specific needs or requests you may have.

Get to know the student and their needs in the context of the course, understand what they excell in and what is more challenging, understand any external factors that may make the process more challenging (i.e. anxiety, dyslexia, etc.), and listen to any other thoughts or concerns the student may have.
2nd grade through college, male and female, various economic bacgrounds.

Make sure you feel comfortable with your tutor. If you're main concern each session is that you are unable to effectively communicate your needs to them, maybe it's time to try a different tutor and that's okay! This is not an insult to the tutor. You are paying for the service and you deserve to get the help spending money on.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do I just want someone to do my homework or give me the answers?
Am I willing to work on the lessons outside of tutoring? Not everything can get done in one session.
What is it speficially about the material that is difficult? This will help the tutor more effectively target the areas you need help in rather than wasting time on concepts you already understand.

Details
In my time tutoring I have been paid anywhere from $15 to $50/hr for the more advanced courses.
Of course pricing will depend on the difficulty of the course and I am willing to be flexible, but I usually don't go below $16 as I have significant tutoring experience and I take pride in providing a higher quality service.
