I recommend Point Muay Thai to everyone seeking to build their skills and techniques in the semi contact rule sets. I’ve had students complete in over 20 of these events and a little under 100 match ups so far. They always put on great shows! That’s why I continue to have students competing in them. Also they have helped build many of the popular fighters you see today on many local California circuits thru their event formats

Point sparring allows kids to showcase their skills. let's face it, muay thai is based on alot of power. dial the power down and combatants can showcase their skills. parents would be more apt to allow kids to participate. unlike other contact sports, point muay thai allows strikes to the head and if your not practicing that, then what good is your martial art? elbows and knees are limited in younger divisions. this isn't Thailand and the kids aren't supporting families through there fights, so this is the best way to safely measure their abilities without getting hurt.

I recommend people read the rules and regulations before entering, also be prepared for it to go quickly.
Our fighter had to fight someone who had already fought and won, our fighter was forgotten but just "left for last", and ultimaly lost without a valid reason as to why. according to their own scoring system, he should've won and asked judges politely why the loss and how to improve and basically was given a horrible answer and nothing to improve our game but with this being said, I'm happy for the experience. I don't recommend anyone whose fighting anything else other than muay thai to enter but I'm happy the team did this, better to have done it than to not know what it would have been. I also felt as though if you weren't muay thai they basically frown upon you but none the less happy we went through with the competition.
