About Wanqing
Hello! I'm Wanqing, and I'm passionate about helping students discover the beauty of music through theory, composition, and piano.
I graduated from Boston University with a Master of Science in Systems Engineering and worked as a software engineer. After several years in technology, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion for music.
My musical journey includes studying piano through the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Continuing Education program and majoring in Music at De Anza College. In Fall 2026, I will begin my second bachelor's degree in Music Composition at California State University, East Bay.
I enjoy working with students who are interested in:
🎼 Music Theory
✍️ Music Composition
🎹 Beginning and Intermediate Piano
My background in both engineering and music allows me to explain musical concepts in a logical, clear, and approachable way while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Whether you're preparing for music classes, learning to compose your first piece, or building a strong foundation in piano, I'll tailor lessons to your goals and learning style.
I believe music should be both intellectually rewarding and genuinely enjoyable. I look forward to helping you grow as a musician!
