About Gillian
I am a qualified teacher registered with G.T.C.S. with teaching experience, I have been an English tutor for fifteen years in the Edinburgh area, helping pupils achieve the best marks possible in exams. I have a good knowledge of the usual literature used by schools. I hold a degree in English and a P.G.C.E. in Secondary English with T.E.S.O.L. I teach some pupils for whom English is not their first language using the 'Headway' series.

My teaching is student centred and I always try to support what the student is doing at school. I teach English throughout the Secondary age range and Maths to Secondary 2. I help students by providing essay plans and talking them through a model essay. I help improve coursework and explain how to answer comprehension questions in order to gain the most marks.
