About Stephanie
I have been a high end wedding photographer for over 12yrs now. This type of work requires a wide range of photography styles. You have to be fast on your feet and quick to manage the different settings required for each new scenario. I can teach you how to know which lens is right for what scenario and desired outcome. How to manually adjust your camera for each photo instead of relying on your auto settings. I am also able to teach you about composition and telling a story or how to capture that perfect moment. I have taught several, now, well known photographers from putting the camera in their hands to letting them go and watching them succeed!! Alex Rios of Wind Productions, Robot of Cult Weddings, and Cori Kovach of CoKo Photography just to name a few.
I love every aspect of my job. It is challenging and hard work, but it feels like it is neither of those things because I enjoy it so much! What better career to have than one that you are sharing with others on the happiest day of their lives. For me, there is nothing better than that!
Honestly, I needed more photographers. I was hiring for our wedding company and I found that it was much easier to pick people that I saw potential in and teach them how to do what I was doing.
I am a self taught photographer. I had to learn everything from scratch. I read every book I could find, watched every video I could get my hands on. I gave myself challenges and tough scenarios to challenge my skills and knowledge that I was learning. I think I didn’t put my camera down for several months at least! However, the best training I could have had was being handed a wedding job! I have shot thousands of weddings and each one presents a new set of challenges. Shooting weddings is where I really got all of my skill and mastery of manipulating my setting and utilizing my camera to the best of its abilities.

The first thing I need to know is where are you already in you camera skill set and knowledge. So, I ask you to define and explain the different functions required to manually operate your DSLR successfully. Once I understand your current level of photography, I start from there and continue to build upon those foundations with the student. Every person is different and every individual will need a different course of training. I build your lessons around you and your personal goals and needs.
I have worked with a lot of different people. Everyone can learn the camera and everyone can take a photo. I have learned through teaching that everyone learns differently. The trick is figuring out how that is and utilizing it so that they can learn better and faster!!
Make sure you like them and that they know more than you do.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
All you need to know is you end game. What kind of photographer do you want to be? Once you know this, your teacher should be able to guide you there.
Make sure they know the camera and how it works manually and are they knowledgeable in the field of practice you are pursuing or not?

Details
Pricing will very depending upon the amount of time and the number of lessons you will need to accomplish your goal. Being a paid working photographer. It is largely dependent on you as the student and how much you bring to the table in effort and commitment. Lessons start at $50.00/hr and if you book multiple lessons in advance the additional hours are discounted.
