About Connie
Along with teaching, I have been a professional performing pianist for several years. I use my enthusiam for music as I strive to inspire my students to get excited about music.
Hearing and seeing a student catch onto the excitement of music. Once they get the bug, the sky is the limit! I enjoy the challenge to meet each student's unique needs, as everyone learns differently.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, with Piano as my major instrument. I have taught private piano lessons for several years, and also performed as a professional pianist in the DC area for a variety of clients as a soloist or as part of small jazz groups and a dance band.

For a beginner, whether 7 years old or 70, I begin with age-appropriate books, including a basic piano book, technic, theory, and supplemental books which may include folk tunes, classical, playing with chords, and/or popular selections. As I work with the student, I begin to see their strengths and interests, and use that information to keep them interested and motivated.
