About Jasmine
My name is Jasmine and I've been playing the piano since I was six years old. I attended Northwest School of the Arts and am currently a student at Queens University of Charlotte. My love for piano began as a hobby, but now I play at university events and teach others. My greatest honor was playing for the Humanitarian Father Patrick Desbois.
I've had five teachers and my pedogogy is based on the best teaching methods and styles from all of them. My first music teacher was a retired Russian concert pianist and my last teacher was a local musician who specializes in jazz. I like to begin by teaching Hannon excercises, chords, and note reading. I think it's important to both have fun and learn at the same time. I think that playing the piano can be fun and relaxing, a lesson should never be a chore, boring, or high-pressure.

Look for a teacher who personalizes lessons to how you learn best. Teachers should also give their students autonomy to pick the kind of music they want to play.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How do you learn best in other subjects? Do you play another instrument? How do you imagine your lessons being?
