Steve works great with my kids and they are not just memorizing the music they are really learning how to read and play music.

Steve is a passionate and talented musician AND teacher. He has high standards and communicates and demonstrates his goals for his students with enthusiasm and clarity. He is always encouraging students to move forward and does so with humor, kindness and great patience. After studying with him for three years I cannot believe how my love for music and my musical competence continue to grow greater every day as a result of his instruction and his example.

Steve is a professional entertainer and a professional teacher that is a rare combination. Taking advantage of that I was playing piano within a month that may have taking me I year Steve's art is he can get you playing something you enjoy while you're practicing. You will have fun and play What more can I say 5 stars for Steve

Aside from his virtuoso-level piano playing, perhaps the greatest singular attribute which sets Steve August apart from others is his ability to simplify abstract concepts into bite-sized and easily digestible lessons. His teaching is inspirational, and the clarity and speed at which you will learn will amaze you. Learning from Steve revealed passions I previously never knew existed, and for that, I thank him greatly

Steve is fun, witty, entertaining and patient. He is a skilled teacher who uses brain based methods and a great deal of positive, encouraging feedback. Doesn’t matter what genres of music you are interested in or whether you prefer to read or “play by ear,” Steve can help you achieve your goals and stretch you to higher levels than you might have thought possible. Top notch!
