About Samantha
I have been a teacher for 17 years. I taught PreK/Headstart for 2 years. Then I spent 13 years in first grade. Most recently, I have taught Kindergarten for the last 2 years. I have a Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy, based on how the brain learns. I have been a lead tacher in my district for the last 10 years. I have helped pilot and create the reading and writing process for my county's curriculum. I also create my own resources for Teachers Pay Teachers. Teaching reading is my passion.
As a 17 year teacher, I have worked with learners with no literacy skills to those who had advanced skills. I firmly believe in teaching where the individual is at.

I like to get to know my students. I would want to know their interests. By knowing their interests, it becomes easier to teach reading skills using content that they have already developed background knowledge of and the interest level helps the reading process.

For a half hour of instruction, I would charge $15.
For an hour of instruction, I would charge $25.
I am more than happy to work out a plan with families if they wanted reoccurring sessions each day or week.
