About Julia
I love teaching voice and and helping students find their unique sound. I am trained in both classical and commerical vocal styles. I believe that teaching different genres is important because it accommodates the creativity and expression of each student and their interests. I have been a professional singer for 12 years with 3 years of teaching experience. I graduated from Belmont University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance with an emphasis in music business. In 2017 I released my first EP, "An Evening with Julia Damore". I also established Julia Damore Vocal Studio and began teaching private voice. Since then, I have graduated with a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Austin Peay State University on a full graduate assitantship. I taught at the university level for 2 years. I have been a semi-finalist in several classical vocal competitions in middle Tennessee, including the Orpheus Competition. I look forward to working with you!

I begin my lessons by getting to know the student better. I usually ask about musical background, singing experience, genre of interest, and general get-to-know-you questions. I will then warm the student up and run through a few vocal exercises. This helps me to being to assess the student's potential. I want the first lesson to be a time for the student to get to know me and become comftorable with singing around me.
