About Alison
I have been working with children ever since I was in high school between babysitting, tutoring, and now teaching as well. I love working with children and watching them grow and be successful.
When I was growing up I was a competitive swimmer for 13 years of my life. When I went away to sleep away camp they had a lifeguarding program to get your certification so I took it and fell in love. I have been lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons for over 6 years now.
I have certifications in lifeguarding, water safety instructor, CPR, and lifeguard management. I have been teaching kids how to swim and lifeguarding for a little over 6 years.

When working with a new student I start off by asking them a few questions about the pool and how comfortable they are. If the child is young, I'll ask the parents. Then from there I assess their strokes to see what needs to be worked on further. I use barbells, kickboards, and pullboayous to help support the different areas such as the kick of a stroke to strengthen it.
I have worked with students of all ages. From 4 year olds all the way up to adults.
