About Cory
With 4 years of experience teaching swim lessons to children and adults I have know how to get a non swimmer to a safe level of knowledge! I have had particular success with special needs students and those on the autism spectrum as well as very young students. I love teaching swim lessons because I know it's a skill that will last a lifetime!

I assess the students level of ability in the first lesson and then plan out a flexible lesson strategy that both challenges and affirms the students abilities.
I've worked with students from 6months old to 12 year old students with autism. All with a range of different strengths and weaknesses to work on.
Every student presents a unique set of abilities and must be given the proper attention to succeed. For some, swimming is an anxiety inducing experience so finding someone who will challenge your child but also make the child feel safe is imperative
This past summer after saying goodbye to some former students in my hometown of San Diego, one particular boy who is been teaching since he was 6 months old told me he wished he could "forget how to swim so I could teach him again."
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should set healthy expectations and lay out a timeline to achieve them. A student should be aware of obstacles that may stand between them and their swimming goals so those obstacles can be communicated to the teacher

Details
My standard price for swim lessons are $25/half hour lesson. That price is then negotiated based on frequency of lessons, length of lessons and location. The price is also variable based on the number of students. Referrals are always discounted!
