About Kayleigh
3 years of experience professionally tutoring students from Yr 5-undergraduate, and teaching computer science at Australian National University. My teaching method is based on encouraging students to ask questions and ensuring complete understanding of the links between syllabus points (as opposed to simply memorising information, which is an ineffective method of learning and reduces the students ability to answer high-level exam questions).
My teaching also focuses on filling in gaps in the student's prior knowledge - especially for maths, it is essential that a student understands all aspects of the foundational knowledge built in previous years of schooling in order to succeed in the subject. I intend to identify and fill in any "missing pieces" which may not have been fully understood in past years and which were not addressed by the teacher, in order for the student to be confident in the mathematical process and knowledge they need to understand current and future syllabus content.
