About Joseph
I am an individual Community College student preparing to transfer to University. I'm here to share and strengthen my knowledge by tutoring students who need help or clarification in mathematics. I do not have a business, this is my first time tutoring in a professional setting.
I enjoy being able to share the knowledge I have gained in my academic career with others and see the excitement and hope that it can bring to students who are able to overcome challenging concepts that were once thought to be impossible.
In June 2021 I will have earned an AS-T in Mathematics and Physics, an AS in Astronomy, and a COA (Certificate of Achievement) in Fundamentals of Engineering. I have successfully completed pre-calculus, Calculus I, II, & III, and differential equations. I have also completed many calculus-based physics and engineering courses as well as both semesters of General Chemistry. Happy to help with all!

Introduce myself to students and see what subject and topic they are struggling with most. I'll take a look at their work and ask them to walk me through their reasoning as to why they went about solving the problem in that way. We will check for fundamental errors or if there is any confusion as to what the question is asking. Identify the concepts and skills needed for the specific topic and then go back and review those topics in the sections from which we learned them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is important for the student to know that a tutor does or should not just give answers. The essence of tutoring a student with success is letting the student do the work while asking questions along the way about a specific detail in the problem, not the whole question.
