About Kate
Welcome! I'm Kate Lundell from Fairbanks, Alaska. I've been a violinist since middle school or when I was twelve, and love playing the violin. My introductory experience with the violin was learning the Suzuki Method, which I teach. I played in the orchestra from seventh grade until my junior year in high school. I also was part of the Junior Orchestra at University Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). After a short break in my senior year, I went on to join a local orchestra for a Gala and the musical "Oklahoma!"
My introduction to teaching began with the Athabaskan Young Native Fiddlers out of The Morris Thompson Cultural Center downtown. I went on to teach on my own for a few years, receiving students from the Young Native Fiddlers who wanted to branch out. A few years ago, I took up my niece as a student, and kept her for about a year.
I really love bringing joy to my students and giving them the opportunity to learn something new. I've had a really good experience with my violin training, and I want to pass that love on to my students. I am good with beginners of all ages, and primarily focus on kids from kindergarten to senior in high school.
