About Jackson
Jackson Bailey has performed as a chamber and symphonic musician across the United States and Canada. He’s participated in numerous workshops and masterclasses with some of the world's most renowned musicians. A love for playing classical music has inspired Jackson to continue his studies at the university level — aspiring him to teach at the highest echelon possible. While performing is very much part of his everyday life, studying violin/viola pedagogy has swiftly taken the forefront for his soon to be graduate education. Much of his teaching combines methods taught from previous teachers, Suzuki and technique/progression plans exhibited from the most well known pedagogues of the 20th century.
Combining my love for playing and teaching music has swiftly become my greatest passion. To help those of all ages seek joy in music goes beyond the reward of happiness. Developing a trait of artistry and musicianship is instrumental to our growth as a multifaceted human. Unlocking the tools necessary to express ourselves through music is my ultimate goal for both our delectation.
Mr. Bailey’s mentors include Andrea Jameson, Dennis Bourret and Jacquelin Schwandt. He has undergone instruction from prominent figures like Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu, Schmuel Ashkenasi, Masumi per Rostad, Katharina Kang, amongst many others.
Mr. Bailey is currently a member of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, while also being dual enrolled in a B.A. Performance Degree and a 2-Year Suzuki Certification Program.
Mr. Bailey has worked as a teacher, sectional coach and served as a community service mentor for his local public middle and high schools. Before leaving Tucson for higher education, Jackson held multiple teaching jobs and was both a violinist and violist in the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra. As a child, he quickly rose through the ranks of his local top youth orchestra at Tucson Junior Strings and became a sectional coach for the non-profit organization once he graduated. Under the Baton of Dennis Bourret — Jackson learned life long pedagogical practices through his 5 year stint at TJS. Mr. Bailey also managed multiple studios, one working for Allegro School of Music and the other his own private studio. He has taught and mentored hundreds of students and is still looking for more who are eager to learn!

The initial lesson will be an evaluation of the students goals, level of playing and committed time to playing the violin/viola.
Teaching at a non-profit orchestra organization has allowed me to have worked with students with a wide variety of backgrounds. Age is also no matter. I accommodate lesson plans tailored to the students specific needs. I encourage all students to play and learn music!
The most important thing is to find a teacher who works and synergizes well with the student. The teacher should be able to exhibit a certain level of mastery on the instrument, along with a clear appreciation and passion for teaching music.

All first student lessons will be free to ensure we're a good match! I charge on a 4-week cycle (Monthly) basis.
