About Nancy
Through 25 years of teaching I have learned the importance of individualizing my sessions to to the unique learner that each student is. I specialize in patient, encouraging and fun violin lessons!!
I offer a free introductory lesson to every student!
I have been teaching since I was in high school, Which was 30 years ago. I have always had a strong passion for coaching violinists and other musicians.
I attended the University of Michigan School of Music. I have been a member of many professional orchestras including, The Savannah Symphony, The Chicago Chamber Orchestra, The Michigan Opera Theater, The Toledo Symphony and many more.

When I teach a beginning violin student I am very intuitive In terms of my approach. I may use a book, String Builder by Samuel Applebaum or whatever I decide is most appropriate for that particular student. Students with playing experience usually begin with a duet or a solo so that I can get an idea of that student's needs. My sessions are pressure free!!!
After many, many years of teaching I have learned to listen, observe and trust my special instincts.
I have worked with beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
I would advise anyone looking for a private teacher to have a trial lesson before you make a choice.

I'm an adult beginner and Nancy's approach to teaching violin keeps me motivated as well as making each lesson enjoyable. She had me "playing" after 3 lessons! Nancy is an accomplished violin instructor but she also has an amazing gift to teach the student to enjoy music at all skill levels and appreciate all (even the smallest) accomplishments!
Nancy has been teaching my daughter Anano for over a year now. My daughter fell in love with her the very first day. Nancy is a professional teacher and a sweet person, a person we are happy we have found.
Nancy is an awesome teacher. She goes out of her way to teach my kids, always encourages them. My kids have learnt a lot and have shown a lot of improvement in a short period of time under her guidance. We are very blessed to have her teach our kids!

Details
I charge a ge a monthly fee of $200 which includes 4 one hour sessions. I usually travel to my students homes. I do offer lessons at my home studio which is conviently located off of 400 and McFarland.
