About MICHAEL
Research chemist with full teaching qualifications. Over 30 years' experience teaching HE, FE and 16-plus.
This is now my second full academic year of offering private tuition on a full-time basis and currently have a client base of 20-plus.
I tutor students for common entrance, 11-plus, (I)GCSE, A level and IB as well as offering adult maths (usually for teacher training entrance).
Tutorials are usually in the student's home but I am now looking into the use of online tuition. This, actually, is something I was involved in the development of nearly 20 years ago working with disabled candidates who could not access conventional educational delivery.

I always try to thoroughly engage every student in the learning process, by gearing delivery to the individual learning style of each candidate, negotiating their Individual Learning Plan and focussing on the areas or topics which they find most problematic.
Regular reviews of learning, using published assessment materials is a means of confirming progress made. Developing the self-belief in any candidate that they can achieve that which they require to progress on to the next stage of their education or employment.
This has proven to be very successful, often improving a predicted grade by one or more.

Details
These rates are for GCSE level. A level (chemistry) would be £35 per hour session.
Travel time (up to 10 miles from my home) is reflected in my stated rates.
I would offer a 10% discount for ten, or more, sessions if paid in advance.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice would usually be fully charged.
