About Thomas
Greetings! My name is Thomas Cook. I have recently completed year 12, and I will undertake an engineering degree in 2022. My love for STEM formed in grade 10, where I studied 10A mathematics at Harrison School. I moved to Burgmann Anglican School for college and studied Specialist Mathematics, Literature, Physics and Biology. I ranked first in my year for physics and fifth for maths. I was also given a place in an engineering extension H-course at ANU and graduated with a high distinction.
I've been tutoring in person for 3 years, and I have had 5 students in total.

For students who wish to grow in maths and physics, practice and understanding are more important than memorisation. I provide practice that enables the student to challenge themselves as they must do in high-school exams. My students are closely monitored in private sessions so I can tailor my support. They are actively involved to gain the most value out of my explanations.
My sessions are for:
- Any level of maths from year 8 to year 12
- Physics for years 11 and 12
- General science from year 8 to year 10
My 3 years of experience as a maths and science tutor is with students from grades 6 to 11 in physical lessons. I have experience using digital technologies for online lessons.
For students preparing for the school semester, I will devise the structure of the lesson. For sessions during the school semester, I will focus each session on the unit outline or preparation requested by the student.
