About Avery
I hold a Master of Arts in Spanish and have eight rewarding years of experience working with diverse language learners. My passion for teaching comes from my belief that learning a language opens up incredible new worldviews. I once worked with a young professional who needed to learn Spanish for a new job in international relations.
We focused heavily on professional communication, vocabulary, and cultural understanding to prepare her for her new role. I use a communicative teaching model that encourages you to speak Spanish during the majority of our lesson time. We build your core vocabulary by focusing on practical, real life situations that you will actually encounter. Pronunciation drills are mixed into our conversations to help you sound natural and understand native speakers easily.
Grammar is introduced smoothly through contextual examples so you can grasp the rules without feeling bored. We practice reading comprehension using authentic materials like Spanish newspapers, advertisements, and interesting short stories. Writing exercises will help you learn how to draft clear messages, school essays, and formal emails.
We will train your listening skills by using real audio recordings containing various regional Spanish accents. I support students who are preparing for school exams, college placements, or official DELE certificates.
