I am an experienced tutor of 3 years and a Durham university offer-holder who would love to assist anybody with their English skills from a primary school to A-Level standard.

My daughter has been working as a tutor for years now. At first, she started off tutoring her god-siblings at home, and then word spread and she began tutoring children online and in person. Her level of care and utter commitment has never faltered. She spends hours outside of the lessons preparing workbooks and personalized study plans for her kids, and when she talks about her students, she does so with so much passion and belief. She has a heart made for helping others, and she truly doesn’t give up until she feels her student is satisfied and has pushed themselves to their potential. I’ve seen her single-handedly improve a SATS student in 3 months from getting 8/40 in his math paper to 36/40. She is insanely methodical and organized in the way that she plans her time and lessons to teach what the student doesn’t know, and then anticipating exams, she focuses on retention and practice. I am so unbelievably proud of her and how far she’s come, and I know for certain that whatever needs you may have, my daughter can help you with them.

Fiona is such an extraordinarily supportive and amazing tutor. Given the personalised, student-focused nature of her lessons, my daughter has been able to strive and develop in her GCSE English. Fiona creates these personalised workbooks every week, and she also provides feedback sheets to the student and then the parents, so I can see how my daughter is improving. She sets realistic and exciting goals, unique homework such as reading a book and trying to find 5 examples of imagery (which my daughter loved!!) and she starts each lesson with 10 minutes of pure memory retention activities. Plus, my main concern was having my daughter nail down exam technique but that’s not a worry at all as Fiona is very technical and basically teaches through an examiners lens. I view her more as a teacher than a tutor as she covers every basis of my daughter syllabus and enriches her with skills instead of just giving her essay questions to practice. Truly one of a kind! She is so worth it
