About Joy
Hello! My name is Joy and I am a registered yoga teacher, an environmental engineer, and a believer in mindfulness! Do you need a yoga teacher or support planning a wellness event? I'm happy to help!
I love seeing the results! Students often share stories of how their yoga and/or meditation practice has helped them to overcome anxiety, to combat depression, or to feel more in-control of their life. This is the most rewarding part of the job!
I have been practicing yoga for ~15 years. As an experienced teacher, I lead 3x/week yoga instruction in a small community studio and gym, and I am eager to help you through 1:1 coaching.
I am a registered yoga teacher, and have a strong history in dance and pilates. I have scoliosis, and have underwent surgery on both knees and both ankles. These experiences help me to understand injuries throughout the body and offer recommended poses and practices to build strength, increase flexibility and heal pain. I also have experienced significant emotional and spiritual stress, and utilize meditation to address my anxieties!

I like to start by learning a bit about the client is looking for, so a few messages, an email or a phone call can help me prepare for our meeting. This is all FREE of course, and is not part of your actual 1:1 meeting. This enables us to start right away once we meet in person or in our online sessions!
I work with students of all ages and experiences...from Big Brothers Big Sisters students (as young as 5) and to experienced adult practitioners at studios in Portland, Beaverton and Hillsboro.
