About Maria
I have been playing the violin for 25 years and teaching for the last 12 years. I am a Bachelors and Masters graduate from the Royal College of Music, London. I have experience preparing students for both ABRSM and Trinity grades and had very successful results manifesting in merit and distinctions. I have also done my fair share of auditions (both for colleges and for orchestral jobs), and I would be very happy to help you prepare for those too.

Whether you are taking violin lessons seriously or for fun, playing an instrument and learning music can be very beneficial for you! I like to bring the attention to exercising focus and playing without tension, as this will give you a foundation for a happy music-making experience and can help you with overall focus and awareness of yourself. Learning the right technique is fundamental to violin playing and I believe learning the basics in the right way will make you be able to play whatever pieces you desire.
