About Cecile
I'm an L1-certified CRLA (College Reading & Learning Association) international tutor with over five years of technical writing, market research, and data analysis experience and over six years of business development and communications experience. I have competent work experience as a writing tutor for international and Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate students while studying a postgraduate in Professional Writing & Communication at Humber College. While working as a tutor, I significantly elevated non-native English speakers’ communication both verbally and through written words as attested by the significant improvement in their confidence in speaking and high marks from their written works. Before “hitting the ground running”, I pay close attention to listen and understand the critical needs of the student first so that I can create an approach that’s tailor-fit to the student’s learning curve rather than having a fixed/templated approach of mentoring. I believe that mentoring should be tailored based on the student’s needs to be able to have more impactful results since everyone has different competencies, needs and learning curves.
