About Des
I'm a pronunciation specialiast and coach of advanced English with a PhD in Linguistics from Trinity College Dublin and 17 years of teaching experience.
My background brings deep academic expertise with real‑world speech engineering: from 2020–2024 I worked on Apple’s Siri voice team, improving English pronunciation, rhythm and clarity for millions of users worldwide.
This unique mix of phonetics, speech technology and high‑level teaching allows me to help learners achieve clear, confident, natural English — whether for professional communication, university work, public speaking, or personal development.
I’ve taught English since 2007, working with:
