About Edward

Hello! I’m Edward, a qualified and experienced tutor with over 12 years of teaching History across UK and international settings. I specialise in History from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and A Level, and I also support students studying the IB Diploma Programme. My approach is calm, structured, and tailored to each learner, with a strong focus on building historical thinking, essay writing skills, and confidence in exam technique. I hold a PGCE with Distinction, a degree in History and Politics, and have completed IB-accredited training in History. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of all abilities — including those with EAL backgrounds or additional learning needs — and have consistently supported strong outcomes in both national exams and international qualifications. I’ve taught a wide range of historical topics, including British political reform, global conflict, authoritarian regimes, and Cold War international relations. I help students develop key skills such as source analysis, structured argument, and thematic understanding — all essential for GCSE and A Level success. I also provide support with coursework planning and writing.My lessons are engaging, accessible, and focused on long-term progress. Students describe me as supportive and easy to understand, and parents often praise my clarity, feedback, and ability to make complex ideas manageable.
