About Josella
Teaching flute has been my passion for the past 13 years, and I have had the pleasure of working with High School, College, and adult students, totalling around 150-200 learners. I believe learning an instrument is about building confidence, expressing creativity, and finding joy in music, not just practising scales and notes.
One of my proudest moments was mentoring a beginner student who had never performed before and helping them confidently present a piece at a local recital. My approach combines patience, structured practice, and creative exercises tailored to each student. I focus on nurturing both skill and passion, ensuring that students not only improve technically but also develop a lifelong love for music.

I follow a student-focused approach to teaching flute, combining practical skills, creativity, and understanding. I use real-life examples and case studies to make musical concepts relatable and easy to apply. I focus on motivation, inspiring students to stay curious, confident, and passionate about their learning.
Problem-solving is an integral part of my methodology. I help students tackle challenges in technique, rhythm, and expression, fostering independence and skill development. Integrity is a core value in my teaching, promoting discipline, honesty, and respect. My lessons are flexible, customised to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals.
In addition to flute, I teach music theory and fundamentals to provide a well-rounded learning experience. My goal is to make every lesson engaging, productive, and meaningful, helping students grow creatively, technically, and personally.
