About James
Hi I am James, I am a "traditigital" artist based near Glasgow. I have drawn all my life and I currently do #draweverydays on my social media channels. You can also find me attending life drawing sessions in Glasgow a lot too. I have been drawing since childhood. I am a 3D "tradigital" artist and I advocate drawing as the core tool. I attended Edinburgh College Of Art and I graduated in 1999. I graduated in Interior Design (applied design) from Edinburgh College of Art in 1999 and since then I worked in the 3D graphics industry making visualisations for architects, engineers, and entertainment companies. I still do freelance work in these sectors today. As well as that I produce my own products and art, I have been featured in two two-page articles about me in the international 3D World magazine and I have had two short animated films featured in Channel 4 film festivals. Over the past few years, I have been working at FabLabs. I did art residencies in Fabrication Labs in Montreal, London and Iceland and recently finished a contract working at a FabLab in North Devon. This has made me an expert with 3D printing, Lasercutting and Vinyl Cutting. I advocate traditional drawing and I have been making a #draweveryday for the last few years on Instagram and Twitter. In my spare time, I love world travel, swimming and films.

Traditional drawing is the core of my work both with traditional and digital work. With these classes, I offer a first free 30 minute session to see your requirements whether you want to get more intuitive expressive work to get into Art college (I know how it feels I was there once!) or to loosen up your drawing skills for your work, self-employment or hobby aims. I will encourage you to do observational drawing, abstract drawing, urban sketching and more to help you unleash your expressive drawing skills. As a "tradigital designer" I can also get you using digital tools along with your traditional expressive drawing such as drawing in 3D space etc.

Perfect! James was incredibly helpful - I was trying to figure out a specific problem on Blender and he showed me how to solve it and how to optimise other processes around it.

- Hi Jeena. Thanks for taking the session. Practice observational drawing, with tighter more detailed work combined with looser work to improve. Try to draw regularly at least 3 times a week and enjoy it too :) If you would like any more sessions with me, I am more than happy to help inspire you and help you improve your drawing skills.
