About Velo
I am a passionate piano tutor with 25 years of experience teaching high school students, college students, and adults. Over my teaching career, I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them grow in skill, confidence, and musical understanding.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and personalized instruction. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt lessons to each learner’s pace, goals, and interests. I focus on making piano lessons structured, engaging, and enjoyable.
In my lessons, I emphasize fundamentals such as hand technique, finger coordination, posture, rhythm, sight-reading, and music theory. I also encourage musical expression so students can play confidently and creatively. Real songs and examples make lessons practical and fun.
A notable achievement is helping students progress steadily from beginner to confident performers. Many students have developed long-term interest and skill in piano through consistent practice and guidance.
My goal is to provide a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students feel motivated, confident, and excited to learn piano.

My teaching approach for piano is focused on communication, flexibility, and practical learning. I believe students learn best when lessons are explained clearly and matched to their learning style. I take time to understand each student’s goals, whether they are learning piano for exams, performances, or personal interest.
I adapt my teaching using demonstrations, listening activities, and hands-on practice. Real-life examples such as popular songs, daily practice situations, and performance experiences help students understand how piano skills are used outside the classroom. Case studies of professional musicians inspire students and show the value of regular practice.
Along with piano performance, I teach music theory, scales, chords, rhythm training, sight reading, ear training, and basic harmony. Students also learn posture, finger technique, and proper practice habits. My goal is to help students enjoy learning piano while building strong musical confidence.
