About Saumil
Hi, I’m Saumil Nair — a FIDE-rated chess player, Certified FIDE National Instructor, Commonwealth participant, and founder of Playzen Chess Academy.
I specialize in personalized online chess coaching for kids, adults, beginners, and tournament players. My students have achieved major rating improvements, crossed 1700 ratings, become state champions, represented at national events, and won prizes in FIDE-rated tournaments.
My coaching philosophy focuses on structured improvement, practical understanding, and helping students think independently instead of relying purely on memorization. Along with competitive chess training, I also emphasize mindset, confidence, time management, and decision-making under pressure.
I aim to create a supportive, professional, and result-oriented environment where students can improve consistently while genuinely enjoying the learning process.

My classes are interactive, structured, and personalized according to each student’s level and goals. Training focuses on opening preparation, tactical improvement, game analysis, endgames, tournament strategy, blunder correction, time management, and practical decision-making.
I focus on helping students understand chess deeply rather than simply memorizing moves. Classes are conducted through Chess.com, Lichess, ChessBase, and Google Meet in an engaging and professional learning environment.
A free trial class is available to assess the student’s level and create a personalized improvement plan.
