About Olaf
Hi, I'm Olaf. Since graduating with a jazz piano diploma in 2005, I've pursued two paths: on the one hand, as a pianist (including with my band Taranczewski), and on the other, as a film composer for feature films, documentaries, and short films. Awards like the German Film Music Prize and prizes in Annecy and Lünen demonstrate that my work is well-received – but ultimately, what matters most to me is my passion for film music, jazz, and electronic ambient music.
Today, I share my knowledge as a professor of jazz/pop production at the Trossingen University of Music. Here on this platform, I want to offer you personalized support – whether you're just starting out or already established in the professional music industry.

Jazz Piano & Improvisation:
We'll work on your playing, your expression, and your freedom on the instrument (ideally for pianists, but I'm open to all instrumentalists).
Film Music Composition/Music Production:
I'll show you my workflows and approaches and give you feedback on your work. I work a lot with Ableton and Cubase, but the principle is the same with any DAW.
Jazz/Pop Harmony & Theory:
Knowledge of harmony and theory will eventually make composing and producing significantly easier :)
University Entrance Exam Preparation:
If you're aiming for a degree in jazz, pop, or production, I'll prepare you specifically for the entrance exams.
