About Oliver
I have been writing and storytelling for nearly two decades. I have graduated Birkbeck, University of London with a Masters Degree and Falmouth University with a 2:1 (Hons) in Film Studies, with a specialistation in Screenwriting. I have received awards and nominations from the Cornwall Film Festival and the National Television Awards.
I have also had writing success and praise from the BBC Writersroom and NBC Universal, with film related work (reviews, editorials and interviews) being published on several established sites: The Curzon Blog, Clapper and FandomWire.
Beyond my achievements, I am also hugely passionate about film and love sharing my passion on the subject to others with a keen interest.

About the lesson

If a student wishes to focus on screenwriting, my lessons will begin with a basic approach to format and methodology. Beyond this, the student will be tasked with LOTS of writing and my job will be to advise, hone and craft their work from this point on. Small writing tasks will be assigned, before working up to how to tackle a feature screenplay.
If a student wishes to focus on film studies, each lesson will focus on a particular genre, director or country and the hour will be spent analysing and discussing traits and/or elements of said topic. A film specific to the topic will be assigned to watch and the following lesson will cover the film in relation to the elements discussed in the previous lesson.
If a student wishes to focus on both film studies and screenwriting, I will alternate on lessons, giving the studnet more time to work on both topics.
On a personal level, I am very open to debate and a variation of cinematic taste and look forward to discussing obscure opinions on cinema with students.
