About Joee
My strong passion for mathematics originated in primary school. I was drawn to the reliance on concepts and fixed formulas in problem-solving, and would immerse myself in math problems, seeking to understand the questions thoroughly and the reasoning behind the application of specific concepts or formulas. I also have a penchant for exploring more efficient or streamlined approaches to each math question. These characteristics are what led me to my aspiration in helping students not only understand the different math concepts, but also seek different methods in solving the questions more quickly.

For my lessons, I rely more on Casco workbooks for practice (secondary school level). As for Poly Foundation Math, I would go through revision/tutorial worksheets and focus on aiding student's understanding of questions that were highlighted to be challenging for them. During lessons, as much as I try to aid the students in deriving the solutions for each math problem, I would find ways to let them discover their own mistakes or what they have left out along the way which deterred them from being able to correctly solve the questions. Although this may take up a longer time to solve one question, I believe this to be the most effective way for students to remember and understand the underlying concepts applied to the varying questions. I also do not restrict them in asking questions only during lessons, but would often encourage them to keep the questions coming in outside of lesson periods so I could aid them as and when they have doubts or problems while attempting questions.
