About Umbusi N
As a
well-educated, highly-qualified and professionally-developed candidate, I know I can add
value and deliver on your strategic imperatives. I am currently a Freelance Senior Executive
Leadership and Management Consultant, adding value to corporates, government
departments, municipalities and non-profit organizations.
In my previous role, I served in the capacity of Regional Senior Manager: Bridging, Sourcing and
Partnerships at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator. My responsibilities included Team
Leadership, Public-Private Partnerships, Community Sourcing, Recruitment, Training and
Development and Retention. I have also held other leadership roles such as the OD Practitioner:
Performance Management, Strategy and Risk at Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, HR & Quality Manager at
Emzansi Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd, and (Acting) Corporate Services Manager at Impendle Local
Municipality. My first full-time position was an Accounting & Economics Educator at the KZN
Education Department.
I graduated at University of Natal (Now UKZN) with an HDE (Commerce), with majors in Financial
Accounting IV (Cum Laude), Business Management III, and Educational Psychology III. I am further
completing the Master of Business Administration Professional Degree.
I have completed professional certificates and on-the-job programs such as Strategic Human
Resources Certificate, Presiding Over-Hearings Certificate, Pension Fund Trustee Certificate, Quality
Management and Assurance Certificate, Lay Counseling Certificate, Collaborative Leadership
Program, Personal Mastery Program, Active Communication Program, Facilitation the EQ
Way Program, and I have authored leadership books and contributed to leadership journals.
