• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I started teaching at a very early age. I was only 15 years old and my neighbor asked me if I could help him in his Mathematics. I did and really felt good when he passed his 6th grade exam . I cherished the moment and that was the starting point. I continued teaching from that time up to now and whenever I see my students progressing, I feel proud and accomplished.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I love accounting, audit and financial management since that is my core qualification and experience at present. I try to give real life example which student can easily relate to which makes them understand and remember life-long.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  I consider one of my teachers a role model. He taught me many things and the most important of them is punctuality. He sometimes used to call the class at 4 AM in the morning and if you are 5 minutes late, you had to stay out of class for 10 minutes as a punishment . I feel being punctual and being always on time has become my personality trait and I am now known for that.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  I believe a good tutor needs to be empathetic because every student is different. Students like when teacher treats them with respect. The tutor needs to become role model for the students. Like one of my teachers used to say, you have to compete with their existing ideals in life who maybe one of the movie star 

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  My teachers in accounting where great and I am here today only because of their untiring efforts and support. A teacher once asked us to read the annual financial statements of listed companies and I went to stock exchange gathered a bunch of them and brought them to school and we all started looking into the numbers and the most interesting number was to search for the salary of CEO of the company  and then saying WOWWWW at each on of it 

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  I feel that accounting and reporting standards are getting complex and there are now limited ways to explain in simple way. Technology and other distractions has reduced the attention span and I never like to sound boring in a lecture but can't help sometimes 

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  My passion is to write a book about my life experiences as I recall lots of them and when I share with my friends they find it amusing. I want to compile them all in a book form or maybe just write it in a blog

• What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?

  When I meet one of my student who has now become a professional accountant and entered his practical life and he tells me “I still remember when you first taught me what is accounting”. It makes me so happy and gives me courage to continue to have those compliments forever. I feel that my true potential is in teaching and I would like to enhance it to its max.
