I was looking for someone to teach me oil painting and was very lucky to find Jonathan. He’s extremely knowledgeable and has a real gift for teaching — he explained the different techniques for using linseed oil and spirits, and how to layer using thinned and thick to create different effects. He also taught me how to read paint labels for lightfastness and transparency versus opacity, so I can now easily judge that on my own when buying paints.
What stood out most was how he was focused on what he could offer — never condescending, always patient, and happy to answer every question thoroughly. He adapted everything to my skill level and knew exactly what to explain and when which was very assuring. By the end of the very well crafted session I made a beautiful painting, and he left me full of ideas and inspiration for future work. I’d recommend him without hesitation to anyone wanting to learn painting in any medium.

I started doing group sessions with Jonathan about a month ago and I've enjoyed every moment. He's very friendly, talented and passionate about teaching! See you soon!
