About Cyd-Kassandra
Hello! I’m Cyd-Kassandra, a Fine Art student at Kingston School of Art and a practising artist working across education, performance, costume, installation and modelling. My practice is interdisciplinary, and I love exploring how drawing, colour, the body, clothing and storytelling can come together to create something distinctive.
I want to teach because my own experience within art education has shown me how important it is for students to develop an individual narrative and a genuinely personal voice within their work. Through studying Fine Art at university and making competitive applications to undergraduate Art courses, I have seen how much stronger an application becomes when a student can clearly articulate what makes their practice distinct, rather than simply demonstrating technical ability.
I therefore want to give prospective art students the same understanding: that an application is not simply a collection of technically accomplished work, but an opportunity to communicate who you are as an artist and why your practice deserves to continue developing.

As a Fine Art student at the Kingston School of Art and a working artist, I understand both the demands of contemporary art education and the challenges of presenting your work to an admissions panel. I offer tailored guidance for students applying to Art Foundation and Undergraduate Fine Art, Art & Design and related creative courses across the UK, with particular attention to portfolio development, personal statements, interview preparation and presenting an individual artistic practice.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students, Foundation applicants and prospective Undergraduate art students. My approach is conversational, encouraging and practical, helping students articulate their ideas and develop confidence in their own artistic voice rather than imposing a particular style or approach.
I have developed and presented my own exhibitions and interdisciplinary projects, giving me practical experience of documenting and communicating an artistic practice. Alongside my creative work, I have completed multiple teaching and classroom shadowing placements, and have taught both online and in-person sessions to learners across a range of ages, abilities and experience levels. My teaching experience particularly includes life drawing, where I have worked as both a professional model and curator, helping students develop observational drawing skills and an understanding of the figure.

Cyd-Kassandra and I have collaborated on a number of art exhibits and works for several years now. We met when we were younger and she really helped me feel confident with both my application to university and broader artistic development. My favourite thing about Cyd's collaborative help with artistic development is how she is always focussed on you as an individual and understanding your personal artistic and career goals. I would recommend her for any need for artistic development or help with applications!

My rate is £19 per hour. This reflects the personalised nature of my sessions, including preparation, tailored feedback and the development of exercises suited to each student’s individual goals. Sessions can include portfolio reviews, personalised drawing exercises, application guidance, mock interviews and practice questions based on my own experience applying to competitive Art Foundation and undergraduate courses. I also draw upon my experience studying Fine Art at university and working professionally across multiple creative disciplines. The aim is to make each session practical and genuinely specific to the student, rather than providing generic advice that could apply to anyone.
