About Ruairi
A bit about me:
For the past 3 years, I've been working towards an integrated master's in physics with astrophysics.
I enjoy gardening, cooking, rock climbing, and video games!
Why have I become a tutor?
I've been there! There's nothing worse than walking into a class with a feeling of hopelessness. I needed help with my English language and literature at GCSE level, having the right tutor helped me feel more confident in class, increased my ability to understand not just what was being taught by the tutor but also what was being taught in class! It made school much more pleasant as I wasn't going through the whole day dreading the next English period. If I can use my knowledge to help other students to alleviate their stress I'm more than happy to do so!

What is my teaching method?
I understand learning a new technique or topic is intimidating, but the beauty of maths and physics is that each topic has a core idea behind it. By having this core idea explained simply and exploring the applications of this idea we can cover the subject without you feeling drowned in material to learn. Learning to trust yourself in applying concepts is a transferable skill that will help you in any subject you study in the future!

Ruairi helped my son with GCSE physics and I can’t recommend him enough. He explained difficult concepts in a way that Adam could understand and had a thorough knowledge of the GCSE physics curriculum, setting past paper questions for revision purposes. Adam got an A in his exam and Ruairi is now helping him with A-Level physics.
