About Jodie
Hi, I’m Jodie! I recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a First in Chemistry, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
I have over six years of tutoring experience, alongside teaching swimming throughout my A-Levels. These experiences have taught me how to explain ideas clearly, adapt my approach to different learners and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I have also gained experience supporting Oxford Chemistry admissions, including assisting with Chemistry interviews at Pembroke College for four years.
I understand that subjects like Maths, Chemistry and Physics can feel daunting, particularly when you lack confidence in a particular topic. I really enjoy helping students work through these difficulties, strengthen their understanding and see their confidence grow.
Now that I have completed my degree, I’m excited to continue teaching and share the knowledge, techniques and exam strategies I’ve developed throughout my education. Whether a student is looking to build strong foundations, prepare for exams or aim for the highest grades, I tailor my lessons to their individual needs and goals.

I take a student-centred, collaborative approach, tailoring each lesson to the student’s individual needs, goals and learning style. I use clear explanations, guided problem-solving, worked examples and exam-style questions to build both understanding and confidence. For exam preparation, I focus on exam technique, mark schemes and strategies for achieving top grades.
Lessons are typically one hour, but can be adapted to suit the student.
I graduated from the University of Oxford with a First in Chemistry and have over six years of tutoring experience in GCSE and A-Level Maths, alongside extensive experience teaching Chemistry up to degree level. Having achieved A*s in Chemistry, Maths and English Literature at A-Level, I am familiar with the demands of competitive examinations and a range of exam boards.
I offer tuition in GCSE and A-Level Maths, Chemistry and Physics, supporting students of all abilities, from those looking to build confidence and strengthen their foundations to those aiming for the highest grades.

Jodie tutored maths with us at Oxbridge Maths Tutors back in the early days, when it was just a few of us and a long way off what it is now. At that stage you're quite careful about who you send to a student, and she was never one I had to think about.
She was always on time and always knew what she was doing that session. More than that, she actually cared how her students were getting on, and they picked up on it.
She's also just lovely to deal with. A lot of students come in already sure they're bad at maths, and she was really good at getting them over that first.
