About Heather
I am an Actress, Tutor and Learning Support Assistant in a school for children with autism. I have a First Class BA (Hons) in History from the University of Warwick and I recently graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) with Distinction from their MA Professional Acting course. Whilst studying, I helped a number of students with revision technique and I have also been teaching drama for several years to groups of varying age and ability. Having achieved an A* in my Maths, Chemistry and History A Levels (with 100 UMS in History), I want to help as many students as I can by sharing my passion for learning. I also want to help build confidence in my students, so that they can believe in themselves!

My lessons are tailored to each individual student based upon discussion with them and/or their parents/guardians. This discussion will allow me to establish what is required from my lessons, what topics are currently being studied and if the student enjoys working in a particular way or has any particular needs. Our first few lessons will help inform the way I structure future lessons. I will set lesson objectives for each class and check in with the student at the end of each class to see if they feel these objectives have been achieved. I love History and drama because they are both the study of people, past and present, from all different walks of life. They are subjects that allow students to think outside the box and express their opinions, providing great communication skills for adult life. I also love maths and want to show students that there are many approaches to the same question and that we can find a way to work through problems in a way that works for them!
