About Mohammed

After graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science (from the University of Roehampton), and after completing my PGCE (with Qualified Teacher Status), I have chosen a career in education because I love helping students to reach their goals. Many of my private students and my daughters are currently studying medicine at Oxford University and at other medical schools. * I teach with care and provide revision notes that are concise but very comprehensive. * My students learn the topics and practise real exam questions during my lessons. They see great progress instantly. Some of the students I have tutored are studying subjects such as medicine and pharmacy at Oxford University and Russell Group universities, and some are now teachers themselves! I am very good at explaining difficult concepts simply. It helps my students to enjoy science and maths, and consequently achieve their goals. I find it rewarding when I see my students start to enjoy science and maths due to my help (when they didn’t like it previously). I believe motivation is a step to success. So, I always try to inspire students to be excited to learn by linking the content with real-life applications. I have been tutoring secondary science and maths, and A level Biology. I have experience in the new curriculum (science and maths 9-1 AQA and OCR). I help with the exam techniques and my students have been making good progress in biology, physics, chemistry and maths. As I am a Biomedical Science graduate, I also teach BSc Biomedical Science and Biological Science modules. Often, parents contact me to prepare their children for 11+ exams. I gave extra support for them. By this time, many of my students have successfully passed grammar schools’ Entrance Examinations. My teaching philosophy centers on a personalized, student-centered approach. I prioritize understanding each student's unique needs, learning style, and academic goals to move beyond the constraints of a traditional, one-size-fits-all classroom model. This methodology allows me to establish strong rapport.

Mohammed was an excellent tutor, he came well prepared with relevant materials to help me, and was very patient and understanding. He understood the trouble I was having (completing questions in a time limit) and showed me new ways to solve problems that I wouldn’t have otherwise known.
