About Jaspreet
I am a Quantitative Analyst in the commodities sector, where I use advanced mathematics daily to solve complex problems and analyse markets. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Physics, having graduated top of my cohort, and through my work I see daily how powerful maths can be in the real world.
My passion for teaching began when I started tutoring at Kumon (cue the Kumon jokes!), a position I held for 8+ years. I taught mathematics and English to students of all ages - from young children building foundational skills to teenagers preparing for exams. I have also tutored at schools during holidays and provided one-to-one private lessons, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how to support learners with different needs and learning styles.
Working with students over these years has taught me that everyone can excel at maths with the right support and approach. I believe that patience is absolutely essential - every student learns at their own pace, and creating a supportive, encouraging environment makes all the difference.
My goal is to build genuine confidence in my students and equip them with the tools they need to succeed, not just in exams but in developing a lasting understanding of mathematics.

I believe that when maths clicks, it becomes much more enjoyable and far less daunting. My teaching philosophy emphasises conceptual understanding rather than mechanical memorisation. I aim to demystify mathematics by building strong foundations and explaining concepts in ways that make sense to you.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs. We work systematically through the underlying theory before applying that knowledge to exam-style questions. I place great importance on listening to both students and parents to understand priorities and learning goals, and I work to identify and address areas of weakness. A typical session involves reviewing key concepts, working through exam-style questions, and developing effective problem-solving strategies.
I work with students at GCSE and A-Level across all major exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR). My approach suits learners at all levels – from those aiming for the highest grades to those who need additional support or simply want to develop a stronger grasp of mathematical concepts.
I provide flexible lesson options: online via Zoom or Skype, or in person at your home or a public space in London.
