About Colm
I am a recent graduate from St. Catherine's College, University of Oxford, leaving with a First Class Masters degree in Biochemistry. As the co-founder of a STEM outreach project for nearby primary school children, helping students expand their knowledge and interest in the sciences has always been important to me. This project was recently shortlisted for a TES Schools Award. I am a reliable and friendly teacher who enjoys making a difference.

Having been a tutor for over five years, I have helped many students improve their grades and find passion in learning (sometimes in subjects that they previously hated!). The majority of my tutoring has been in the sciences and maths, teaching students with a wide variety of abilities, gaining many positive references. Furthermore, I also have experience assisting with Oxbridge/UCAS applications, helping candidates structure their personal statements and prepare for interviews. I was delighted to see all of my year 13 students last year, received offers and met the grades of their dream universities! Lessons are 1 hour long.
My priority when tutoring is to understand and then structure the lesson around the student's learning style, which allows them to benefit the most from the lesson. Ensuring that the basic concepts and exam techniques are well understood, allows for my students to apply their knowledge efficiently to achieve the top grades. By helping my students find their most productive style of learning, this gives them the confidence to tackle revision and independent learning.
