About Verity
Hi! I’m a student at Durham University with a passion for Mathematics and a strong track record of academic achievement. Having recently achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and an A in A-Level Maths, I know what it takes to excel in today’s exam system, and I enjoy helping other students reach a strong level of confidence. Beyond my own studies, I am someone who enjoys helping others succeed. I know that Maths can often feel overwhelming, but with the right structure, patience, and guidance, any student can build confidence and improve their grades. I want to teach because I love that "lightbulb moment" when a student suddenly understands a concept they previously struggled with.

I will break down complex problems step-by-step to identify gaps in understanding. I will help students through problems interactively in order to build confidence in problem-solving. I also place emphasis on timekeeping and using past papers to guide your studies. I will run 60 minute sessions for students preparing for independent or grammar school entry, and for GCSE students looking to boost their Maths grade and master difficult topics. I have experience in helping my peers with their exam study and I have a fresh understanding of what exam boards look for.
