About Lailah
Creative writing and argumentative writing have long been passions of mine. In creative writing, I hold the power to convey how I feel through characters, personification, metaphors, etc. In argumentative writing, I get to research multiple perspectives and ideas on one topic, in turn, broadening my perspective with such newfound knowledge, and overall benefiting me as a person who now knows that there is never one side to any opinion. While attending high school, my writing potential opened a great opportunity to take college-level classes during my Junior and Senior years. My professor took the time to teach my high school class and show us what it was like to think about texts and write at a more advanced level, as well as emphasizing the importance of thinking critically so that we may positively contribute ideas as a part of society. As strict as he was, he was an equally amazing and engaging lecturer, who could steadily hold my attention even while being the last class of the day, on a Friday, no less. I strive to use the techniques that he uses and to encourage writers like myself to never stop improving, no matter how good or how bad people think you are, and to continue to improve your critical thinking skills to help you become the best possible version of yourself.
