About Ali
Hi!
I'm Ali, a keen student of English Literature at university, and an equally enthusiastic tutor of the subject for students aged 11-18.
I possess GCSEs in English Literature (9/A*) and English Language (7/A) and an A-level in English Literature (A), and am now in my first year at Greenwich reading English Literature.
English Literature, despite being so well-known, is a very underrated field of study, covering a host of vital skills including critical thinking and analysis, essay writing, and, above all, creativity!
I want to help students nurture their interest and abilities in English Literature and help them open their minds to the countless cultures, histories, beauties of the English language, and conditions of the human mind that are housed by books, because these things, and their study thereof, are what make us human.

As with all my new students, the first thing I do is get to know the student to understand their background and goals, then, depending on their aims, go through and discuss an appropriate text of reasonable length and together form a short analytical account of it, to better understand the current standing and abilities of my students.
All sessions are 1-2-1 and typically an hour in length, but this can be amended to suit the particular needs of the student.
