About Evie
I am a first year biology student at Edge Hill University, during my own time in the lower years of secondary school I received personalised support from older students who had recently experienced the same style of learning and marking that I was working towards. I found this incredibly helpful in feeling confident and excelling in my exams as the students supporting me were relatable, relaxed and I found it easier to engage and ask questions with them than my teachers.
I would like to provide this support for the new generation of young people, encouraging success but also encouraging the acceptance of setbacks - instead of criticising failure, my approach is analysing the issue and working in tandem to eliminate it.

I have worked with younger children for 5 years as a dance teacher at my local studio so I am very comfortable in my skill set of communicating with and adapting to a range of ability and understanding.
Throughout my secondary school career I supported younger years with reading, spelling, writing and phonetic technique - creating engaging lesson plans in my spare time and providing tutoring sessions in break/lunch times and after school.
I would be confident in my ability to allow children to excel mostly in English and Biological concepts - achieving A* at GCSE in both subjects but would be willing to support in other subjects with some notice to brush up on them!
